Under the guidance of STEM,The United States takes the lead in integrating engineering into science education, which is called "Integration of Science and Engineering".Since it is vital in cultivating talents of science and technology,Integration of Science and Engineering has been widely accepted in many countries and regions. In China, however, basic engineering education is always ignored, while students are required of inter-discipline knowledge structure and the ability to solve complex problems. Therefore, integrating engineering into basic science education can not only improve the current level of science education, but also develop the basic engineering education in our country.Science teachers play such an important role in the exploration of Integration of Science and Engineering that their attitudes towards the background, significance, design, organization, evaluation and other aspects of Integration of Science and Engineering will make a great difference in basic education. Therefore,a survey was conducted on the perceptions and practice of junior middle school teachers in Integration of Science and Engineering in Shanghai, which included the following two parts:(1)Perceptions of junior middle school teachers of Integration of Science and Engineering;(2)Practice of junior middle school teachers in Integration of Science and Engineering.Firstly,a research framework was established based on documentary study.Secondly, perceptions of junior middle school teachers of Integration of Science and Engineering were obtained by questionnaire and interview, while practice in that was observed in class. Finally, research conclusion and recommendation were given out.
