Application Of Schema Theory In High School Chemistry Teaching

As a result of the chemistry subject contains its unique concepts and the properties of element compounds and different complex reaction rules, the chemistry system often seems complicated. Moreover, because the students are often separate the concerned knowledge from the whole chemistry systems, it is difficult for them to master and apply knowledge systematically. Therefore, it is tough for the students to apply their knowledge into practice. Coupled with teachers mainly teach the chemical knowledge by text, which is difficult to highlight the intrinsic link between knowledge and knowledge of the subject. In this way, the students can't acquire and remember the concerned knowledge. As the demerits mentioned above, the author proposes Schema teaching strategies according to the characteristics of knowledge and its intrinsic link to build relevant schemas, which will change the scattered, isolated knowledge into a systematic and structured, interrelated system. And the schema in the form of intuitive knowledge structure will be presented to students that will help students better understand and master the knowledge of chemistry so that improve students' ability to apply knowledge of chemistry to solve the problem.On the basis of schema theory research, the schema is suggested to be used in the introduction of the chemical knowledge, element compounds and teaching procedures according to the characteristics of each part of the classes. After a semester of teaching practice, Grade 1 are selected as the object of this research in order to study the effect of the schema theory by questionnaires so as to enhance students' understanding and mastery of chemistry concepts, to promote students' knowledge of memory elements and compounds and applications, to solve the problems by using the chemical knowledge.
