The Modern Transformation Of Traditional Filial Piety In Moral Education Of Middle School

Filial piety, the ethics to regulate the relationship between parents and children, plays an important role in promoting family harmony and social stability. Up to now,filial piety culture has shown a worrying aspect that people lack the sense of filial piety, middle school students do not respect and understand their parents, which widely exists in our daily life. The main reason is that they didn't receive enough education of filial piety from family and school. Strengthening the filial piety education of middle school students will have a positive impact on promoting the development of individual personality, family harmony and social progress. The traditional concept of filial piety is the source of the modern filial piety. As to filial piety education of middle schools, it is impossible to abandon the traditional concept of filial piety and to start from scratch. Based on the dialectical analysis in the basic contents and impacts of traditional filial piety, the author discusses how traditional filial piety transforms into modern concept of moral education from two respects:the innovation of contents and the choice of methods, thus to promote the effectiveness of filial piety education and the development of moral education in middle schools.
