The Cultivation And Practice Of Socialist View Of Liberty Among Contemporary University Students

Guided by Marxist theory of liberty,the socialist view of liberty with Chinese characteristics is developing gradually during the cause of China’s reform and construction.The further enrichment of socialist core values in the 18 th CPC National Congress has attached more importance to socialist view of liberty.Due to the urgent needs of university students themselves and establishing socialist core values in whole society,university students need to cultivate and practice socialist view of liberty,which is not only related to the comprehensive growth and development of university students,but also exerts influences on state and national future development to a certain degree.Consequently,as the main front of the ideological and political education towards college students,colleges and universities are confronted with a pressing problem,which is how to cultivate and practice socialist view of liberty among university students.The essay discusses the cultivation and practice of socialist view of liberty among university students from three aspects: practical considerations,content analysis and ways of implementation.First,the essay conducts sampling survey on some of the students from Wuhan’s three universities by means of questionnaires to have an understanding of their current views of liberty.The essay finds that,in terms of liberty,some students misunderstand the proper implication of liberty,lack the knowledge of or disapprove socialist view of liberty,while others cannot deal with issues related to liberty in reality.Then the essay makes a specific analysis of the reasons behind those phenomena.Second,the essay analyzes the cultivation and practice content of socialist view of liberty among university students according to their problems concerned with view of liberty.Mainly on the basis of discrimination between socialist view of liberty and capitalist view of liberty,the essay helps university students strengthen their socialist beliefs and practice socialist view of liberty.Third,the essay puts forward supporting measures aimed at the cultivation and practice of socialist view of liberty among university students to accelerate the implementation of socialist view of liberty.Those measures include: to improve the construction of universities’ related work mechanisms,to give full play of theory teaching as a main channel,to optimize campus cultural environment,to pay more attention to university students’ training and toughening in social practice,and to strengthen the cooperation among society,families and college education.Through this research,the writer hopes to help university students better cultivate and practice socialist view of liberty,further expand the research field of ideological and political education,and provide some references for future related researches.
