| Currently,with respect to the English classroom reading teaching pattern,teachers generally use the pre-reading,reading,post-reading teaching pattern,but such kind of the classroom reading teaching is not necessarily and really effective in promoting students’ development of language learning and thinking ability.At the same time,English writing has been adif ficult problem that high school students have been confused.Many students show a negative attitude towards English writing.Only the sufficient and effective language input can it be possible to produce effective writing output.Therefore,in English classroom teaching,the effective ways are required tointegr ate the language input and output(reading and writing).Genre-based teaching method is a kind of teaching method based on genre theory.It applies the genre and genre analysis theory to the practice of classroom teaching,and carries out teaching activities around the textual schematic structure.It is aimed at helping students to understand and grasp the textual features with different genres by providing them with a series of genres knowledge,as well as different communication purposes,textual structure and language features,developing their genre awareness,thereby enhancing the students’ reading and communicative competence.Therefore,there are some scholars and teachers at home and abroad that have carried out genre-based teaching experiments,but most of them are limited to the independent reading teaching,or writing teaching at university or middle school,and there’s little application in the reading and writing integration teaching.Inspired by this,the author decided to conduct the experiment in Jinhua No.1 High School,and applied the genre-based teaching method to high school English reading and writing integration teaching,and explored the effectiveness and feasibility of improving the English classroom teaching effect accordingly,so as to answer the following questions:1.What are the impacts of the use of genre-based teaching method on students’reading and writing attitudes in the high school English reading and writing integration teaching?2.How to use genre-based teaching method in the high school English reading and writing integration teaching?3.What are the impacts of the use of the Genre-based Teaching Approach on students’ reading and writing ability in the integrating teaching of reading and writing?The empirical study was lasted for a semester,there were a total of 86 students of two classes of grade one of the high school participated in the activity.It’s indicated through the experimental data and empirical case analysis that:1.The use of genre-based teaching method in the high school English reading and writing integration teaching can stimulate the students,reading interests,and improve their reading habits,promoting the students to improve their autonomy and self-confidence through the reading migration.2.The use of genre-based teaching method in the high school English reading and writing integration teaching can be realized through several steps as follows:stepl:to stimulate the existing genre icon;step2:to achieve the genre icon migration,thus to make layout preparation for the writing;step3:to dig the in-depth connotation significance,thus to lay the foundation for laying the core clue of the writing;step4:to analyze the textual language features,thus to make the language preparation for writing;step5:to arrange the layout of the writing task for the corresponding genre,thus to train the textual writing;step6:to analyze the situation of goal reaching of the essays written by the students in according with the genre characteristics.3.The experiment has a positive impact on the improvement of students ’English reading and writing ability,which can effectively improve the reading comprehension of the students,improving students’ writing ability and having a significant impact on the improvement of students’ genre cconsciousness.The results indicate that genre-based teaching method can be effectively applied to middle school English reading and writing integration teaching,so as to improve students’ reading and writing ability.The discussion of this thesis mainly includes the following five chapters.Chapter 1:Introduction.This chapter is to mainly introduce the present situation and the problems in high school English reading and writing teaching.Meanwhile,this chapter elaborates and puts forward the necessity,purpose and significance of this research.Chapter 2:Literature review.This chapter is mainly about the theorie’s and relevant definitions with respect to the effective input,output and genre analysis in domestic and abroad,which is a more comprehensive analysis of application research results of genre analysis in teaching.Chapter3:Research practice design.This chapter elaborates the assumptions and three research questions,as well as a series of processes of implementing and solving these three problems.Chapter 4:Data analysis and discussion.Through the analysis of the data collected and the analysis of two typical teaching practice cases,this chapter is to seek the answers to the three research questions and the teaching effect of the application of genre-based teaching method in the high school English reading and writing integration.Chapter 5:Conclusions.This chapter is mainly to summarize findings and achievements of this study in classroom practice.Meanwhile,the author puts forward the suggestions of the teaching in the future for the problems found in the process of the research,and sums up the shortcomings of this study,hoping to seek further solutions in the teaching in future. |
