English plays a more and more important role in our life and work.Mastering English is a trend of the development of the world.Furthermore,It is important for English learners to master English.To junior students,English writing is important for them not only to develop themselves in the future but to their coming test to Senior High.However,English writing teaching is weak in English teaching because most teachers only care about the result of students' writing and ignore the approach of writing.Besides,the students have no high interest in writing and even they are in fear of writing.In addition,They are in lack of the skills of writing.As a result,their level of writing is low.Scaffolding instruction is from “the Zone of Proximal Development”.It can improve the English teaching effectively.During teaching,teachers can create the writing circumstances,and make the scaffolding for students to write.The instruction can inspire the students to improve the ability of writing and stimulate their interest in writing.The thesis was carried out in Jin xi middle school,Kun Shan for 20 weeks,based on the scaffolding instruction.To verify the following two questions:(1)How is the scaffolding Instructional Model applied to Junior School English Writing Teaching?(2)Can the Scaffolding Instructional Model arouse students' interest in writing and improve the level of students' writing ?Two intermediate classes of Grade 8 are chosen as the subjects for the research.And Class 3 is used as the experimental class,which the scaffolding instruction is applied as the teaching method while Class 4,control class,adopts traditional ways.Writing tests and questionnaires are given to each class before and after the experiment.The data are analyzed through Excel.In the thesis,one class is showed the concrete steps of how to apply the scaffolding instruction to the teaching of writing.After 20 weeks' research,the results turned out the hypothesis.The scaffolding instruction can improve the level of students and can inspire the interest and increase confidence.What's more,it can change the attitude to the writing and develop the cooperation.Especially,The scaffolding instruction is useful for students with the poor level in writing.However,because of the limited conditions,the number of the subjects is not very large;Moreover,the conclusion should be further improved.How to confirm the Zone of Proximal Development in time should be studied more in teaching.
