TBLT(Task-based Language Teaching)is an influential la nguage teaching approach put forward by language teaching researcher since the 1980 after tons of research and practice.English Curriculum Standards, which was promulgated by Ministry of Edueationin 2001 suggests“teachers should avoid using methods of simply passing on know ledge of la nguage,but should try to us e Task-based Language Teaching approach.Students learn and use English to complete the learning tasks by thinking,research,discussion,and cooperation,etc.The thesis is based on English Curriculum Standards, meant to study TBLT in a reading class in Chinese senior high Schools by be ginning with th e introduction to the theori es of reading and task-bas ed language teaching.The thesis includes the resear ch question,the purpose and si gnificance of thi s research in a readi ng class.it talks about the problem s of reading t eaching through questionarie and interview. It also disc usses the actual implementing TBLT in a r eading class, w hich includes the procedures of reading tasks,t he principles of reading tasks and two sample task-based reading models.
