On Credit-worthiness Of Needy Students Under The University Financial Aid System

With the expansion of university's enrollment, the deepening of the reform of higher education system and the quantity of needy students in universities across China, much attention has been paid to this special group. As this issue related to social stability and people's livelihood, it's important to improve the aid system for needy students in universities to ensure that every needy student has the fair opportunity to receive education and avoid neglecting their studies due to poverty.Aid system for needy students in universities, consisted of various forms, including National scholarships, National Encouragement scholarship, State grants, state-subsidized student loan, free education policy for normal university students, Retired soldiers education funding, Grass-roots employment compensation for students loans policy, national fund for compulsory military service, freshmen enrollment funding program, work-study program and tuition waivers, has ensured that the students have the necessary aid to finish their education. However, affected by the unhealthy social currents, trustworthiness imperfection of many needy students popped up during the aiding process. This thesis studies the trustworthiness imperfection issue and analyzes this phenomenon as well as its reasons, so as to come up with a feasible strategy.The thesis is consisted of five parts. The first part introduces the background, significance, research status, research content and method of the subject; the second part studies the theoretical basis of the issue; the third part probes into the trustworthiness of needy students in Shaanxi Xueqian Normal University; the fourth part describes the trustworthiness imperfection phenomenon and its reasons; and the fifth part proposes the feasible strategy, measures and suggestions, such as enhancing the trustworthiness education, perfecting the aid system and establishing university student trustworthiness evaluation system, to solve the trustworthiness imperfection issue based on the analysis.
