| Higher education is a very important part of national education system. It plays a significant role in the training and outputting of talented person, and it is also the key power and performance of political, economic and cultural growing development. The set of colleges and departments in university not only reflects students' training objectives, but also reflects the requirements of political, economic and cultural construction for colleges and universities. Since the founding of The People's Republic of China, higher education has experienced several adjustments of colleges and departments before the forming of current higher education system. Based on its unique regional characteristics, Hebei province demonstrated its particularity in colleges and departments adjustment.This article takes the colleges and departments adjustment in Hebei province from 1949 to 1976 as the object. From the angle of college adjustment's background and characterization, it describes and analyzes the stage of start, fully implement, and callbacks distortion of the colleges and departments adjustment in Hebei province. On this basis, the research has made some reviews of the historical experience of the colleges and departments adjustment. According to the research, the faculty adjustment of the universities at that time in Hebei province is the cause of political situation with the feature of larger scale, longer time and valuing mobilization thought. This paper also extracts some revelatory conclusions for the development of the regional higher education with the view of drafting and implementing the policy of the faculty adjustment should based on the balance of between the education and society, changing passivity to initiative and emphasizing independence of the education. This research has a supplementary significance to rich historical materials about colleges adjustment and it would deepen our understanding of the colleges and departments adjustment in Hebei province. |
