Abstract/Summary:
Xiaocang Zheng,a famous educator in Modern China,who has made great achievements in the field of education and dedicated all his life on the development of China’s education. On the double background of the Powers dividing China and the deep-rooted education for national salvation, Xiaochang Zheng acceped not only the enlightenment of Sinology traditional education, but also the influence of Western science pragmatism after his arriving in the United States. So there are not only the “RU” of the Eastern but also the “Gentle” of the Western on his personality and education thought.Xiaocang Zheng has not only an abundance of knowledge, but also always do the things as what he thinks, and teach students sincerely. In the fields of education,translation,poetry,and so on, he has left us a precious heritage.Especially in the field of education,during 60 years in his education life,which he summarized and refined a large number of educational theories, including:Essence of education,the educational objectives,educational methodology,etc.which have made outstanding contributions to our theoretical system of education. On the same time in the fields of child education,higher education, vocational education and adult education,etc, he also has put forward his own unique insights, which play an important effect on the development of pedagogy and the subject application not mater on that time or in modern times.This thesis just studies the Educational Thought of Xiaocang Zheng, taking Xiaocang Zheng ’s life and his home background as a starting point, introducing Zheng Xiaocang’s life experiences, education action,personalities and ideological origins, which plays an important role in understanding and grasping the development background and development context of Xiaocang Zheng. At the same time this thesis focuses on collating and summarizing the rich practice and multi-faceted insights of Xiaocang Zheng in the field of education. Finally it systematically discusses the time value of his educational thought. Influences of Xiaocang Zheng’s Educational Thought has penetrated in all aspects of the education system,which provides a good reference for the reform and development of China’s Modern Education,is a strong impetus to the comprehensive strength and the overall level of China’s educational progress.
