Situational Teaching Method has become one of the most popular,the most effective ways of modern pedagogy.Certainly,in teaching English,Situational Teaching Method would hold the balance.The proper use of SM in English teaching can stimulate students"interest in English learning,arouse students’ positive emotional response,and further students’ desire to take part in teaching and learning activities,in order to achieve effectiveness and efficiency in English language teaching and learning.The research of the situational teaching method at home and abroad has been conducting.But the situational teaching method to the study of junior middle school grammar class is less.The grammar is an important part in English learning.Whether the use of it is fluent and accurate or not plays an important role.The author thought about some problems in the creation of situation of English teaching,and how to create situations,and how to effectively use the situational teaching to stimulate students’ interest in learning English methods.At last,I proposed some personal views.On the other hand,based on the constructivism of English classroom teaching of junior high school,the paper directs at finding out if SM is appropriate for the grammar teaching and learning at junior high school.The subjects in this research are junior high students from two classes.One of the two classes is taken as the control class and the other class is regarded as the experimental class.Cooperative learning is only used in the experimental class.The results of this study show that compared with traditional English teaching method,in junior high,teachers should be good at using some effective ways and resources design real situations and lively environment not only to make students interested in English language learning but also arouse students’ enthusiasm and emotion factors.Also it can improve junior high school students’ ability,help students in junior high school to train positive attitude to English learning but also improve their self-confidence and social skills in the process of English language learning.The thesis is made up of five chapters.The first chapter gives a brief description of the aim,the background and the significance of the meaning of this paper,research questions and organization of the thesis.The second chapter presents some theories related to the cooperative learning and the current situation of English reading teaching in rural junior high school.The third chapter gives detailed information about research questions,research instruments,research subjects and research procedures.The fourth chapter is about the analysis of the results,including presenting,discussing the data.The conclusion of the study is the last chapter.
