Accreditation of teacher education providers is an important system to promote the professionalization of teachers. American teacher education provider accreditation system has experience many changes and its development is more mature. Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation(CAEP) as a new generation of American teacher education accreditor its structure and function, accreditation standards, accreditation range and the accreditation process of teacher training deserving of our in-depth analysis. The study of CAEP is meaningful for us to understand the development of United States' accreditation of teacher education providers, teacher education professional standards formation.American teacher education accreditation development has four periods. The time before National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education(NCATE) established was referred birth period. Period NCATE established and developed called the start-up period of monopoly. In 1997 Teacher Education Accreditation Council's(TEAC) establishment break the monopoly. This was the period of development of coexistence. CAEP's creation in 2013 divided into integration innovation period. CAEP had integrated NCATE's and TEAC's advantages. Cooperation with teacher education providers and state education departments and other organizations to establish a database system, committed to continual improvement of teacher education. CAEP Commission on Standards and Performance Reporting published five certification standards. The biggest characteristic of CAEP accreditation standards is that it has strengthened the relationship between the standard and evidence. In addition, CAEP certification procedures had integrated NCATE's and TEAC's advantages. It provided three accreditation pathways. CAEP accreditation has four characteristics: standards keep raising, flexibility, evidence and continuous improvement. Finally, base on the research of CAEP, there are three Enlightenment to build Chinese teacher education accreditation institutions: focus on data collection, introduce the peer review system, strength the normal students' clinical practice.
