"Teachers is researchers" as a new phrase has become an important concept in professional development of teachers, is the major trend in the development of the teachers today. In the scientific research work conference in 2014, Yanjue Wang, director-general of the ministry of education of science and technology, stressed: "scientific research is a basic work that the majority of teachers should engage in, and it can not only improve the professional quality of teachers themselves and enhance their teaching abilities, but also can promote social practice, theoretical construction and teaching reform, which has many aspects of value." Famous scientist and academician Weichang Qian clearly put forward: "if you don’t teach a class, you are not a teacher; if you don’t do research, you are not a good teacher." It thus fully highlighted the importance of scientific research for teachers. The research department in Tangshan, since 2009, has made building an open quality education as the goal, and implemented a series of measures to improve the teachers’ scientific research execution, construct high-quality featured school and efficient classroom. This greatly improved the attention of the scientific research work from the large primary and secondary school teachers, inspired their enthusiasm and initiative of the scientific research activities, thus forming a series of excellent scientific research achievements. Physical education teachers, as an important part in the high school teachers, are also under the related policy to stimulate and promote the scientific research activities. However, for reasons in various aspects, rarely on the in-depth research of the current scientific researches are carried out, thus formed a major shortcoming of the present study on middle school teachers.Under the title of " Current Scientific Research of Tangshan High School PE Teachers", using literature review, interview, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics, logic analysis and other research methods, this paper uses age, gender, educational background, professional title and treatment of Tangshan secondary school physical education teachers as basis, and systematically analyzed the current scientific research policy situation faced by those teachers, and the current situation in academic works, academic papers, and academic subject, and the participations in academic conferences and scientific research training situation, and the current scientific research consciousness and scientific research motivation. It then summarizes the problems existing in the research of Tangshan city middle school physical education teachers, and finally puts forward specific solutions to solve these problems. Specifically, the thesis mainly come to the conclusion of the following aspects:(1) The number of physical education teachers in Tangshan city middle schools is sufficient, but the distribution of school personnel is uneven: some schools have more than a dozen teachers, some have at least two. The gender ratio of teacher is1.4:1, with more female than male. And most of sports teacher have undergraduate degrees, with majors in physical education, sports, national traditional sports, and many other professional training.(2) The department of education in the city and the schools attaches great importance to scientific research of PE teachers in middle schools, and formulates a series of policies and measures to encourage and promote teachers to actively participate in scientific research activities. The ratio of staff who participates in scientific study and training is low, and the number is small, the actual effect is unsatisfying, and the actual effect to improve the sports teachers’ scientific research consciousness and ability of teaching is very limited.(3) The middle schools PE teachers in Tangshan conducted scientific researches mainly in academic papers, academic issues, academic works, and the number of academic papers published is more than the academic issues, and the proportion of the number of published academic works is higher than the ones that held academic issues topics and publications. Problems still exist in low number and the poor quality of high level scientific research.(4) The motivation of the middle school physical education teachers in Tangshan city to conduct research is not straight, but for various reasons will still actively engaged in scientific research activities, and the motivation of scientific research has certain characteristics of passivity in their subconscious.Aimed at the problems existing in the scientific research of the current middle school PE teachers in Tangshan, this paper put forward the following suggestions:First, in the process of recruitment of PE teachers, secondary schools in Tangshan on one hand should improve the level of candidate qualifications, the standard of scientific research achievements, and thus recruit youth sports teachers with high education level and scientific research ability. On the other hand, they should encourage school sports teachers with low level of education to continue their study in colleges and universities, if conditions allows the schools even can offer such learning opportunities for physical education teachersSecond, education departments and schools should emphasize the importance of middle school PE teachers’ scientific research by setting up more scientific research projects that are consistent with actual scientific research ability, and strengthen the reward for high quality, high level scientific research, arising the physical education teachers enthusiasm to publish more papers take on academic projects, and write more academic books.Third, education departments and schools should provide targeted, comprehensive, effectiveness, high academic conferences and training of scientific research activities according to current situation of scientific research of PE teachers in middle schools, to arouse their scientific research interest, and to improve their ability of scientific research, which means high quality, high level of scientific research. Education departments and schools should strengthen the promotional activities of scientific research of PE teachers in middle schools, cultivate their awareness of scientific research and multiple value, and correct the research motive. Also they must merge the personal teaching experience into scientific research, scientific research consciousness and the ability of guiding teaching activities, so that the general physical education teachers can bring various practical interest in scientific research.
