In the era of knowledge economy, the university has become an important carrier of knowledge production and plays an important role in a country’s economic development. As a special organization, the university is mainly engaged in the cultivation of high-level talents and the production of various kinds of scientific and technological knowledge. Meanwhile, university is also the main production unit of new thoughts, values, ideas and ethical culture. University, as a kind of education organization must be adapted to the history and is faced with the problem of organizational learning and innovation all the time.At present, in order to improve our country’s national innovation ability and adapt to the era of knowledge economy, Chinese universities must learn and draw lessons from the successful experience of the world famous universities and to explore how to improve organizational learning and innovation ability of Chinese universities. In the development history of Chinese university, learning the advanced experiences in developed countries is the main development track. Now the main problem is how to improve the ability to learn, innovate and change. These questions are the logical starting point and the direction to explore the universities development in China.First of all, successful experiences of the west universities provide rich information for us to study the university organizational learning and innovation. This article focuses on the successful experiences of university learning and innovation of the world famous universities, including the University of Cambridge, Harvard University, the University of Tokyo, Berlin University and Tianjin University. Secondly,by analyzing and summarizing the experiences of university system development history and key events,we extract the basic characteristics of university organization learning.On this basis,We found that, the main line of university development history is in accordance with the five stages of evolution of the pressure, exploration, imitation, innovation and integration. So we put forward a process model of university organizational learning and innovation,called 5P model.In the end,applying 5P learning model,this paper analyzes the learning disabilities existing in the process of organizational learning and put forward a set of specific operational management method and process from the organization construction, cultural construction and study method to improve organizational culture, organizational management and find the university innovation management methods.
