The absolute value has a very important position in the middle school mathematics,with the curriculum reform,the absolute value problem has become a hot spot content,however,because the knowledge about the absolute value in junior high school is simple,Senior high school students pay little attention to learn the absolute value,With the mathematics content increasing,the high school students have different degrees of confusion in the absolute value.English full name of SOLO is Structure of the Observed Learning Outcome,the meaning of Chinese is Structure of the Observed Learning Outcome,It is a kind of cognitive development theory in essence.SOLO classification theory has 5 different levels of thinking level: Prestructural level,Uni-structural level,Multi-structural level,Relational level,Extended Abstract level.In this paper,the author tries to write the questionnaire combining with the absolute value and all parts of high school mathematical knowledge based on the SOLO.Research on the cognitive level of high school students in absolute value learning and its development through questionnaire.The main conclusions of the study are:1?The absolute value of the cognitive l evel about 60% high school students at the Multi-structural level,About 20% of high school students at the Relational structural level,about 13% of high school students at the Uni-structural level,in the problem of the absolute value about 3% of the students at Extended abstract level,however,there are about 4% of the students do not understand the absolute value,at the pre-structural level.2?Liberal arts students' answer is worse than science students in the absolute value about geometric part and algebraic part,The overall trend for high school students the knowledge of the absolute value is almost the same,performance in the absolute value of the knowledge base is not solid,link the absolute value with other knowledge is not flexible.According to the SOLO classification theory,the author hopes the teacher can apply it for teaching to promote students' cognitive development.
