Ministry of Education began to expand the recruit of fresh-graduates-oriented full-time master of education since 2009.Facing the drastic expansion,how to ensure the quality of postgraduate education is the core issue as well as the key underpinning that concerns the educational talent pool of basic education.Teaching material,as the carrier of knowledge,is the basis of teaching activity.Therefore,the development of teaching material has become the key research subject on cultivation of full-time master of history education.Based on the background in the discipline of history,this paper,on the subject of the development of teaching material for full-time master of history education,aims to comment the sole published series textbooks,Master of History Education,in terms of their compiling philosophy,style,content and so on.Thus to spring up the vision for the development of teaching material for full-time master of history education.Questionnaires are completed to demonstrate the current status of teaching material and students’ opinions and expectations towards them.Specifically,the dissertation consists of four parts.Part one is introduction,which states the background and significance of the research from the perspective of postgraduates’ cultivation and qualities that faculty of basic education need;state the current research respectively;briefly introduce the research methods;define full-time master of history education and textbooks for full-time master of history education.Part two is a brief review of the development of full-time master of history education.Supported by the result of the questionnaires,this part is to specify the current situation of textbook compiling for full-time master of history education and several letdowns in it,such as a shortage of diverse textbooks,lack of systematicness,lagging behind the teaching needs and insufficient commitment to history education textbooks.And the necessity to develop and complete the textbooks is rightly pointed out.Part three is to introduce and comment the series textbooks,Master of History Education,Changchun:Changchun Press,2011.Framed by a general introduction,this part is to state the textbook by six aspects,including the general compiling philosophy,specified compiling ideas,target readers,style and structure,selection of contents and ways of manifestation.Part four,based on the previous review,expounds the vision for the development of teaching material.Five principles are brought up:a.Textbooks and audio-visual teaching mutual-complement.b.History textbooks and pedagogy textbooks integrate.c.Research function and application function coexist.d.Theory and practice integrate.e.Equal stress on domestic research and foreign research.In addition,this part explains the development ofhistory textbooks,exemplified by the development of general history textbooks and historiography theory textbooks,aiming to make a first trial on the research of developing the teaching material for full-time master of history education.
