Since the 18th National Congress of Communist Party of China, the important task of the development of sports and the construction of sports power has been raised into the agenda by the general secretary, Xi Jinping, of the CPC central committee. The development of the football reform in our country ushers in unprecedented opportunities. In 2005, Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao Football Club successfully won the five straight championships in China Football Super League and won the twice championships in the last three years in AFC,which reignites people's football dreams. In order to develop football sports, many football players and experts put forward many reforming proposals to progress school football and put football into the grass-roots and school. In the end of 2014, Guangzhou campus football promotion school list was promulgated. This study investigates the current condition of the after-school training in 21 campus football promotion schools in Guangzhou through literature method, interview method, questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics method. The conclusions are as follow:1. Guangzhou has a excellent football atmosphere. The layout of the Campus Football Promotion Schools is wide and the number is large, but the sources of funding is single, and the subsidies for extracurricular training coaches and the rewards for outstanding athletes are fewer.2. The coaches have clear motivation for campus football after-school training. 62.50% of the coaches engaged in after-school training because they like football. Most of these coaches'education background is undergraduate course and highly educated talents are fewer. The coaches are lack of professional sports and leading training experiences and their scientific research level and motivations are lower. The lack of systematic coaching restricts the comprehensive quality of the coaches and the improvement of the sports teams.3. The age structure of athletes to participate in extracurricular training is reasonable, but parts of athletes are lack of cultural knowledge and the correct understanding of learning. Influenced by the parents or the teachers in charge, athletes'training time is difficult to guarantee, and less competition makes athlete'exercising levels in increase slowly, which affects the sustainable development of football talents in reserve.4. The traditional education concepts for judging students in terms of academic performance and the worries that affects students'learning achievement and physical security lead to a slow development of extracurricular training. The contradictions between study and exercise is still outstanding. The training plans are difficult to complete.
