English Writing, an important measurement of students' English level, shows students' comprehensive ability. Feedback,which is an essential part of English writing teaching, has become an important topic to many researchers and has a broad research prospect. Teacher feedback and peer feedback, the two most important parts in feedback, lead to the widespread concern of scholars at home and abroad. However,most researches done by scholars focus on college students, few researches and studies are conducted among high school students. So, this study tries to apply peer feedback to high school English writing teaching, designs specific steps and anticipates the problems that may arise. The aim of this study is to enhance students' initiative and autonomy. The research subjects are two senior one classes from High School Attached to Shandong Normal University, and respectively have 57 and 58 students. What's more, they have the same English writing level and study progress.The research questions are:(1) what attitude do the high school students take towards peer feedback?(2) Does peer feedback improve the writing ability of high school students( If so, the author should analyze from the accuracy of the language, content and the structure of composition)?(3) Does peer feedback promote the same towards different students?( Author will analyze from different gender and different level).Through a careful analysis of the questionnaire and a contrastive analysis of the data, the author draws the follow conclusions:(1) Most of the students in experimental class accept peer feedback and they are willing to be involved in the class.(2) Student's English writing ability has improved through the use of peer feedback. And the three aspects of the composition are improved to different degrees.In the aspect of content, the sentences are more accurate and the main points are more complete; In the aspect of language expression, students have obvious progress in tenses, the accuracy of the words and the use of collocation; In the aspect of structure,the structure of the whole passage is more complete and the conjunctions can be used more properly.(3) Girls improve more than boys under the influence of peer feedback.And low level students improve more than high level students under the influence ofpeer feedback. So peer feedback can be applied in the English writing teaching,together with teacher feedback, helps students to improve English writing. However,in the process, we should pay attention to(1) Most of the students haven't used peer feedback before, so the students should be trained at first.(2) Teacher should pay attention to students' behaviors in the whole process. So, it is required that teacher should be adaptable and have profound knowledge.
