The basic functions of clothes are warm-keeping and body-covering.But since the birth of clothing,it has been artificially endowed with the meanings of symbolizing identity and status.In state-societies,the wearing is artificially institutionalized,and the institution of wearing has become and been an important part of political system.Clothes have also become a kind of political articles and political means.Clothes have the basic political functions as following:political rule,class distinctions,status-embodying,image-building of political figures,political affairs-boosting,political information-transmitting,political identification and mobilization,and reflection of political changes.There are close relations between clothes and politics;In short,clothes are common political means and also mirrors that reflecting politics.
