City Five Antis Movement In Suzhou Area

On March 1,1963,the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China(CPC)issued a instruct about‘Increasing Production and Practicing Economy,against corruption and theft,against speculation,against extravagance and waste,against decentralization,against the bureaucracy',started City Five Antis Movement.The movement was in the increasingly serious situation home and abroad,and after Mao Zedong made a wrong estimate of the situation of class struggle in China,so the political movement was launched.Under the background of highly centralized,the movement in Suzhou,was the result of implement a series of policies and policies of the CPC Central Committee.Under the instruct of CPC and CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee,April 8,1963,the CPC Suzhou Committee issued ‘ about carried out the Increasing Production and the Five Antis Movement deployment plan',the Party and government offices first to uncover the prelude of movement.After the secretary of a provincial party committee Jiang Weiqing inspection Suzhou,Suzhou's Five Antis Movement developed in depth,after made experiments the grass-roots unit started the movement.Due to the CPC was regarded extravagance and waste?decentralization and the bureaucracy as the contradictions among the people,besides,corruption and theft?speculation was deemed to contradictions between ourselves and the enemy,therefore,Five Antis Movement was divided into two big stage which “three evils” Movement and “two evils” Movement.At the end of 1964,the CPC decided to make Five Anti Movement into the Four Clean-ups Movement.Though,the enthusiasm of the City Five Antis Movement can not be ignored,such as improved the staff's ideological awareness,promoted the development of the production,strengthened the construction of party's style,improved the cadres of the image,after all,the movement in "taking class struggle as key link",under the guidance of the negative effects than positive aspects,and resulted to the class struggle theory and practice more serious,hit the enthusiasm of the original capitalist to built socialism and led to a number of suicides.
