A Comparative Study On Legal Consciousness Of Different Groups

Consciousness is an important psychological phenomenon and a state of awareness of every individual.Awareness includes contact sense organ experience such as the sensory perception,and the non-contact awareness is also included such as memory and thinking.Both of them reflect the individual process of dynamic cognition as well as the static psychological attributes.Legal consciousness is the individual awareness on the legal phenomenon and legal knowledge.It can be divided into two stages.The primary stage is the psychological stage which means the individual primary awareness,perception and information processing of the legal phenomenon.The advanced stage is the process of learning,memorizing and thinking processing of individuals.In this society,the legal consciousness of citizens will not only directly affects the process of governing by law of our city,embodies the degree of citizens about abiding by the current law,but also relates mainly to the stability and harmony of our whole social environment.I want to know whether or not there is any difference and what kind of differences of the social groups in different gender,occupations,age and social stratum.This study selected groups of social managements,labor workers,college law students as the research objects which combined with the theory on the stage division of legal consciousness in order to formulate a rational questionnaire.The items of the questionnaire are divided two parts.The first part reflects the content of perceptual experience among individual legal consciousness which involving the legal phenomenon during the perceptual process.The second part reflects the content of rational experience among individual legal consciousness which involving the legal knowledge of memory and thinking process.After the investigation of the three social groups by using the questionnaire as well as the analysis and comparison on the legal consciousness during different groups according to the survey results,I have arrived at the following conclusions:Overall,the performance levels of legal consciousness in three groups are different.The level of college law students group is higher than that of social management group which is higher than the labor workers group.Among them,the performance in social management group shows their lack of rational legal consciousness,including the limited mastery of legal knowledge about administration and legislation.The general performance in labor workers is poor,including the lack of rational legal consciousness and the limited mastery of administration and legislation.By contrast,the college law students showed their higher level of legal consciousness,however,the capability of combining the legal common sense and theoretic practice needs to be strengthened.According to the psychological analysis of the existing problems about legal consciousness among the current groups,I would like to propose the following strategies: we should pay more attention to purify the bad information source,advocate the civil learning of legal knowledge and strengthen social propaganda.
