The relationship between Japan and the EU has rapidly grown since Abe Shinzo became the Japanese Prime Minister again on December 2012.Japan and the EU vigorously promoted the Japanese-European Strategic Cooperative Partnership Agreement while strengthening their cooperation on economic area and global issues. The first main Objective factors reason for strengthening the JapaneseEuropean cooperation was to cope with the rise of China.Secondly, strengthening their cooperation was affected by American factors.Thirdly, global issues promoted their cooperation. The subjective factor is both Japan and the EU hoped to rise their international influence by each other. However, there are some problems between Japan and the EU as follows.First,Japan and the EU developed bilateral relationship based on different intentions that Japan pursued political interests while the EU looked for economic interests. What's more, the rise of Chinese economy has decreased the cooperation between Japan and the EU.Second, increasing economic and trade frictions between Japan and the EU have negative effects on their relationship.Third, the strategic position of Japan and the EU for each other is not the most important.Although Japan and EU has continually expanded and strengthened their cooperation during Abe Shinzo's second term as a Prime Minister of Japan, the outlook of establishing Japanese-European strategic cooperative partnership is still cloudy.
