Group corruption refers to the behavior of using public power for personal gain. It regards the collective as the main group to operate in groups compared to individuals, which is more harmful and private compared to individual corruption. Currently, Chinese society is in the critical period of transformation, since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China led by General Secretary Xi Jinping strictly discover corruption cases, hit flies and tigers together.Especially, they are firm and resolute in fighting group corruption that involves a large number of people and a wide range of implications. They discover one corruption case and investigate it, in strict accordance with the law. But under suchhigh pressure, the group corruption cases are still emerging, which requires us not only to research from the aspects of rigid system construction and judicial supervision, but also to research from the soft cultural aspects. In this paper, the author first analyzes the essence, characteristics and harms of group corruption, and then analyzes the relationship between group corruption and other factors. Next, the authoranalyzes the cultural origin of group corruption's generation and development from the aspects of the origin of clan culture, the society of human relationship, the thinking of "no punishment if everybody does it",the pattern of "equal profit sharing" and peasant ideology. In terms of reality, the author proposes the realistic strategy of anti-corruption from the cultural origin, and in the aspect of the theory research, the author complements the research on group corruption.
