With the faster pace of globalization, the population mobility has become a common phenomenon. As migration groups still have the connection with their mother countries and they have been influenced by the two different cultures, they maintain special identities which provide them the chance to perform a positive influence on the relationship between these two countries.Acccording to the official record, the first documented Indian came to the U S in 1820,but the number of Inidans in the US is small and they have low social status because they can only handle some labor-based work.Until the enacting of the 1965 Immigration and Naturalization Act,a large number of Indians migrated to America. While they gained more economic income and higher social status, they can have more positive influence on the relationship between the US and India. This essay will analyze the influence of Indian Americans on the relationship between the US and India in the aspects of political affairs, economic cooperation and culture, which can prove that immigrations are not the root for those social troubles in those receiving nations. They can have an active impact if both their mother countries and the receiving nations can provide them enough support. The relationship between the US and India has changed from isolation to alliance. Now American government practiced the strategy "Pivot to Asia",and it regards India as the largest Democracy, the relationship between the US and India has become "strategic partnership".Before discussing the influence of Indian Americans on the relationship between the US and America, this essay first divided the process of Indians came to America into three parts. From 1820 to 1945,very few Indians went to America. From 1945-1965,in order to ease the relationship of these two nations, more Indians who have good education background went to the US.Finally,a large number of Indians become American citizens. This essay will discuss the influence of Indian American on the relationship between the US and India in the following aspects, political relationship, economic cooperation and the communication in culture and education.First,Indian Americans gained strong economic power, and they helped the development of Indian economy through overseas remittance and foreign direct investment. Those immigrants created the conditions for the trade between the US and India. For a long time, the overseas remittance in India is 3%-4%of the GDP,and it has become an important part of the economy of India.Meanwhile, many Indian Americans are elites in some high technology field, and they push the trade cooperation in those areas between the US and India.Second, many Indian Americans set up different kinds of organizations and provide campaign contributors in the president elections.Whenever conflicts happened between these two countries, many Indian Americans choose to parade or lobby the Congress to express their voices which can help them to put the issue mildly.Due to the large number of Indian Americans and their huge social influence, they have the ability to change the cognition of the Congress towards India. Finally,in the cultural area, immmigrants are the carriers of cultural exchange, they can be the bridge for cultural communication between the US and India. In so many educational activities, immigrants play an important role in the whole process, and they can be the organizer, practitioner or even the promoter. Methods employed in this essay include documentation analysis and case analysis. The analyses here are based on some affairs happened in political, economic and cultural area between the US and India.According to my research, although many Indian Americans face some cultural inadaptation and the loss of identity when they came to the US in the beginning, they can finally found their social orientation.Meanwhile, the Indian government offered dual nationality for those Indian Americans to maintain the connection between these two nations. The support from their mother country became a significant driving force for the development of Indian Americans in the US.Considering the devotation of Indian Americans in the whole society,American government always took into account the reaction of this group of people when facing the conflicts between America and India. In general, with the help and guidance of both the mother countries and the receiving nations,Indian Americans can play a positive role in the development of the relationship between these two parts. So that the immmgrant groups can have a positive influence on the relationship between the both sides because of their special identity.
