Study On Problems And Countermeasures Of Public Participation In Guangzhou Donghaochong Renovation

Guangzhou donghaochong renovation is an important part of city renewal and public management research. Since reform and opening, with the continuous development of economy and society in China, along with fast urbanization, how to improve environment for the material and culture and to make revitalization in the old city, is an important and inevitable part during the process of urbanization. However, in the process of urban renewal, often readjustment and redistribution for the social environment and public resources, involve more stakeholders and the public level. Therefore, it does not feasible on the planning and design of a single government, only by exploring the participatory governance between government and public can achieve a win-win situation. Guangzhou donghaochong renovation is an important part of urban renewal, this study uses public participation in Guangzhou Donghaochong renewal as example,discussing the basic layout from the aspects of government, public advisory oversight committee, the public and the media, and analyse the problems and the main reasons. And then combing worth learning experience and inspiration by combining with the practice of Chinese and foreign public participation in urban renewal, propose that deepening governmental construction, strengthening the functions of the Public Advisory Oversight Committee, fostering participatory awareness and ability of public, improving the legal system, and having a media support, can make public participation more effectively and orderly in urban renewal.
