The Study Of Quanzhen Taoism Of Yuquan Temple Of Tianshui In Gansu Province

In recent years,the study of the Quanzhen Taoism in the region has become a hot topic.However,the Quanzhen Taoist of the Yuquan in Tianshui did not attract sufficiently for the academic circles.Based on the inscription of the stone,this paper refers to the information of Taoism and local records,and elaborates the development of Quanzhen Taoist Temple in Tianshui and its interaction with local society.As far as the development of Tianshui Yuquan temple is concerned,first of all,by investigation and retrospection of the history of Yuquan temple,I believe that the Yuquan temple was not traditional exposition that it was Northern Shan temple of the Tang Dynasty and the Tianqing temple of the Song Dynasty.Instead,it was created in the Yuan Dynasty by Liang Zhitong,who was Qiu Chu ji’s disciple,because spring can cure disease,so it is called “Yuquan Temple”.Secondly,by doing up the system of Immortality faith and sectarian inheritance about Yuquan temple,I found that the system of Immortality faith belief about Yuquan temple is unique,which shows different belief categories on the principal axis and sub-axes of the architectural layout.The mainline line is a typical belief system of Quanzhen Taoism,but the auxiliary axis is a folk belief system relating to Taoism.The sectarian inheritance of Yuquan temple mainly reflected the fact that the sect was unknown at the beginning of the Ming Dynasty.The late Ming and early Qing Dynasty co-existed both the Huashan School and the Longmen School of Quanzhen Taoism.Since the middle of the Qing Dynasty,it has been the Longmen School.This situation is similar to Kongtong mountain of Pingliang in Gansu Province.The fact indicates that this is a common phenomenon in the inheritance of the Quanzhen Daoist schools in Gansu province since the Ming and Qing Dynasties.From the interaction between Yuquan temple in Tianshui and local society,at first,it shows that the local officials and gentlemen support the Yuquan temple and adds new fairy beliefs to the Yuquan temple;Secondly,the interactive relationship between the Yuquan temple and ordinarypeople is embodied in the Yuquan temple,which constantly absorbs folk beliefs to meet the needs of ordinary people for various beliefs.All of these contribute to our further understanding of the Quanzhen Taoism of the Yuquan temple in Tianshui,and also give us a new knowledge of the changes in the legal heritage of Quanzhen Taoism and the interaction between Quanzhen Taoism and local society.
