Research On Traditional Architecture Carved By Brick And Its Application In Environmental Art Design

Traditional architecture carved by brick is an important decorative art form in the sphere of ancient Chinese architectural art,which has a long and rich history and extremely high artistic value.Brick carving enriches the external decoration of the architecture with the plain material and vivid forms of expression.Furthermore,varied and meaningful ornaments in ancient buildings represent profound traditional culture.Nowadays,people in the city live in unhumanistic lives because of the ice-cold buildings and indifferent citizens and they never have a sensation of returning in the nature.In order to improve the living situation and increase the need of spiritual sense and cultural tastes,people gradually pay more attention to the traditional ornament art.The psychology of citizen who pursue for cultural taste and aesthetic requirement matches well with the brick carving form of art,therefore,people at home and abroad care much about the traditional architecture carved by brick for the simple reason that it can meet the satisfaction of their inner demand.Therefore,in order to protect this precious art form and make it achieve a better application and development in modern society,this paper presents some methods and practical applications to preserve these traditional cultures,which is also the exploration and research of the subject of the paper.Based on the traditional architecture carved by brick,the paper is divided into six parts.Firstly,the objective factors related to the formation of this art form and existing problems are analyzed in the first chapter.Secondly,the theoretical construction of brick ornamental sculpture is established,which contains three main areas,such as the cognition and development,consisting elements and cultural characteristics.Thirdly,the interpretation of the design process in the carving research and it also contains three parts:morphological structure,type of application and environmental innovation.Finally,specific content of the design created by the combination of theory and design creation inthe practical application in Guanyan Old Ruins Ancient Street District.Additionally,this paper makes a summary of the result about the brick carvings and also makes a review of the shortcomings and limitations and future prospects about it.Besides,we hope for more valuable researches about historical and cultural connotation in traditional architecture carved by brick.And we also disclose the importance of the carving in the development of our nation and even the modern decoration art design through the inspection,induction,investigation and analysis of the architectural artifacts.The paper not only traces the historical development of brick carving,but also opens a door for future development of it,and we try our best to find a new way to inherit the traditional art in the contemporary art design circumstances.Through the remolding of the ancient ruin of Guanlan with brick carving and plenty design methods,we strive to build a urban space environment which can reflect the local characteristics and cultural background.
