The Research On The Nostalgic Narration Of Chinese Youth Theme Films Since 2010

This paper mainly researches on the youth theme films since 2010.After 2010,China’s film market showed a spurt of growth and Chinese films get into a new ten years.In October 2010,Chopsticks Brothers produced a micro film called “Old Boy” in Youku,spread overnight rapidly in the network,which the audience at all levels praise it.“Old Boy” is not the first micro film in the network,but it is one of the most influential network micro films,it is not only opened a creative tide for micro film,moreover,“Old Boy”caused a strong response from the audience with its strong sense of nostalgia.The youth films,mainly refers to the campus as the main narrative space,to the love of youth as the main narrative clue,to express the emotional appeal of contemporary youth nostalgia as the main content and in the past and present the double staggered time as the main form of the type of film narrative.Different from the 10 years beginning in twenty-first Century and the 90 s youth films named “cruel youth story”,the youth films have the theme of “nostalgia of youth” after 2010,and rapidly becoming an important type in Chinese films market,and continue to get the box office success,attract the public attention successfully and become “the phenomenon film”completely.This paper argues that the rapid rise of youth films closely related to the widespread of group nostalgia in society and it is nostalgic derivatives in the society.Meanwhile,with its unique narrative discourse and the nostalgic type,the youth films become the excitation point of nostalgia,it is not only the form,the content as well.It is the combination of signifier and signified.This paper can be divided into three chapters:The first chapter discusses the diachronic development of the youth films and the background which stimulates the nostalgia in youth films.In the “new ten years”,the youth films show different artistic features from the previous youth theme,such as narrative connotation from the edge to the public and from the grand narrative theme to the feelings of “nostalgia” and the style changes into the expression of small feelings and so on.This chapter also discusses the current cultural context for nostalgic narrative of youth films.Both the rapid development of the Internet and individual identity anxiety contribute to the change to nostalgia of youth films narrative.The second chapter discusses the nostalgic narrative method of youth films.Through the textnarrative analysis of youth films,mainly including selection from the narrative perspective and narration span,it can explore the specific nostalgic narration characteristics of the youth films.At the same time,it can get the semiotic significance interpretation behind the space from the choice of the youth films narrative space.The third chapter discusses the cultural connotation of the nostalgic narration in youth films.It suggests that the nostalgic narration in the contemporary youth films contains lots of signified meaning,it is the specific characterization of contemporary youth who is lack of history,especially for contemporary people,it is the resistance and conversation to the deficiency for contemporary people and thus achieve the poetic spirit,it is the helplessly compromise to inevitable social pressure and individual anxiety.
