Balakirev Piano Concerto No.1 In F Sharp Minor Performance Analysis

Balakirev wrote three piano and band works in his life: grand Fantasia-for Piano and Orchestra,Piano Concerto No.1 in F minor and Piano Concerto No.2 in E Major.This paper focuses on Balakirev’s Piano Concerto No.1 in F minor,which deeply reflects the young Balakiyev’s respect for Chopin’s music.The texture writing in this work still embodies the Romantic music style,with the contemporary writing technique,the artistic idea has the common character.We can see the composer’s deep understanding of piano music composition and the study of piano playing skills.In this paper,It is hoped that this paper will give some suggestions to the readers in performing and studying the musical form,tonality,harmony,thematic features and the treatment of piano performance.
