Xiao Er Ya is the first book of exegesis that had appeared since Er Ya.Xiao Er Ya was written for the sake of increasing the context of Er Ya.We donnot know who completed the book until now.We just know the book was completed during the Qin dynasty and the pre-Han dynasty.According to the prevailing opinion,Xiao Er Ya was originally circulated in the world,and later,because of the loss of a single book,it was released from the collection of kong cong zi.Xiao Er Ya as a series of works related to Er Ya,inherited synonymous with the term of " one meaning is the same" concept as well as in phase from the layout etc,but also has innovation,for example,increased the content about length,weight and volume and added new meanings.And it gave up the explaining of single words.The article takes the synonym of Xiao Er Ya as a research object,and by the graph statistics method and the synonym research method to carry out an in-depth study of all the words of Xiao Er Ya.Defining it as a book of synonym exegesis.The thesis is divided into the following parts:The first part,the introduction.Firstly,the author introduces the viewpoints on the author of Xiao Er Ya and the book era.Secondly,the research status of Xiao Er Ya is introduced.Thirdly,the research significance and research methods of the thesis are introduced.The second part,the identification of synonym in Xiao Er Ya.This part is divided into two parts,namely,the identification principles of the synonym of Xiao Er Ya and the words types collected by Xiao Er Ya.The principles of the identification of synonym mainly involve the criteria for the identification of synonym,the form of a synonym explanation,the identification of words and Chinese characters,and the integration of the meaning of the polyseme.From the point of the part of speech,the types ofwords collected in Xiao Er Ya mainly include notional words and function words.From the point of syllable structure,it includes monosyllabic words and polyphonic words.The third part,the synonym exegetical forms in Xiao Er Ya.The part mainly includes two exegetical forms:explaining the meaning of a word with another similar meaning or the same meaning.And explaining the meaning of words with another words or sentences.Among of them,the synonym exegetical forms include directly explaining the meaning of the words.Or many words are explained by one word and so on.The fourth part,the paraphrasing of synonym in Xiao Er Ya.The words collected by Xiao Er Ya mainly include ordinary words and encyclopedia words.For ordinary words,only seeking the same point does not distinguish.Therefore,the main features of the paraphrasing of ordinary words are discussed.For encyclopedia words,we discuss the two aspects: seeking common ground and distinguishing differences.The fifth part,the special paraphrasing forms in Xiao Er Ya.This chapter mainly introduces three kinds of special paraphrasing forms,namely,one explaining words have several different meaning and the different meanings respectively correspond to different explained words.And explaining the words with opposite meaning and a kind of special paraphrasing forms.The sixth part,the arrangement of the catagory of words in Xiao Er Ya.The content of Er Ya was increased by Xiao Er Ya.And the way of the arrangement of the catagory of words inherited from Er Ya.There are two types of the arrangement of the category of words in Xiao Er Ya.The formation of category in the title name and the arrangement of the category in the text.There are 13 parts in the book of Xiao Er Ya.From a large perspective,the first three parts are all ordinary words and form a category.the latter ten parts are all the encyclopedia words and form a category.From a small perspective,the internals of each part are also organized by the categories.The first three internal semantic arrangements are not veryobvious,but the arrangement of the category of words in the last ten parts have rules to follow.The seventh part,the historical position of synonym of Xiao Er Ya.Mainly from three aspects: Firstly,enumerating the proportion of various types of words in Xiao Er Ya in the form of a table.Secondly,the historical position of synonym of Xiao Er Ya.Thirdly,the value and deficiencies of the synonym study in Xiao Er Ya.The eighth part,the epilogue.Xiao Er Ya inherited the synonym criteria of " one meaning is the same" from Er Ya.The synonyms of Xiao Er Ya account for 85.6%.So we define it as a book of synonym exegesis.
