| As publicity materials, the translation of tourism texts should show the aesthetic effects to people and provide them with the corresponding aesthetic experience. However, disappointingly, most translation of tourist attractions is still lack of aesthetic feelings. Moreover, there’s no theoretical guidance in the study of the tourism texts translation. This thesis attempts to discuss the translation of tourism texts from the perspective of translation aesthetic theory.Based on E-C translation of Britain Attractions of Studies on Diversified Britain Chapter Nineteen, this thesis discusses the aesthetic reproduction for tourism texts translation.According to Liu Miqing’s aesthetic principles, this thesis summarizes the following strategies: amplification, omission, division, conversion, passive transformation and word order optimization. With effective use of these strategies, the translation can achieve the aesthetic standard and offer readers aesthetic enjoyment. The above translation strategies respectively have different applications and effects.First, according to the aesthetic principles of “amplifying” and “contracting”,amplification and omission methods can help to ensure the original texts’ accuracy and conciseness.Second, the principles of “general” and “specific” show that the method of lexical conversion can help to meet the Chinese expression habit. Then the principles of “covert” and “overt” can optimize the word order to reproduce the logic of English texts. And division is often used when the English sentences are long and complex, which can realize the form beauty of original texts.Last but not least, the implementation of passive transformation makes the translation more natural and smooth.Through the use of a variety of aesthetic reproduction strategies, the author not only deepens the understanding of translation aesthetic theory, but also realizes the aesthetic reproduction of tourism texts,so as to improve the quality of the translation. |
