Dialogic Syntax is one of the forefront topics in cognitive linguistics in foreign countries currently.Different from traditional syntax, which only focuses on the syntactic phenomenon at the syntagmatic level,Dialogic Syntax expands it to the paradigmatic level of pairing, focusing on its syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic features embodied in the dialogues.Question and answer dialogue is one of the basic ways by which people communicate and obtain information.A question and its answer can be regarded as a Question and Answer Dialogue Construction. At present, many scholars at home and abroad mainly focus on pragmatic and sociolinguistic features of Q & A.Most of these researches focus on only one side of question and answer, and make a static analysis from the syntactical level. From the perspective of cognitive linguistics, this thesis intends to integrate the Relevance Theory,Event-domain Cognitive Model and Dialogic Syntax to construct the RED framework,by which the cognitive mechanism of Chinese shenme-and zenme-Q & A dialogue construction(CQA)is to be analyzed. In Q & A dialogue construction, the answerer responds to the questioner in varying degrees by repeating the words or structures of the question, and thus achieving syntactic resonance, semantic correspondence, and pragmatic relevance to different degrees,so as to achieve cognitive cooperation and exchange information. The author collects about 79,800 pairs of CQA from BCC after an exhaustive research, and gets 798 pairs as an enclosed corpus by choosing one pair in every one hundred.Based on the statistical research on the enclosed corpus, the author analyzes the features of CQA by RED framework(For more details, see the table on Page 54).According to the statistic research, the following conclusions can be made:There are no dialogic resonances in CQA in most cases.Semantically, partial correspondence appears in most situations.Pragmatically, maximal relevance takes up most cases.Besides,it is harder to produce dialogic resonance, semantic correspondence and pragmatic relevance in zenme-CQA,compared to shenme-CQA.The contributions of this study are as follows:First, this paper tries to construct RED framework based on Relevance Theory(RT),Event-domain Cognitive Model(ECM)and Dialogic Syntax(DS)to reveal the cognitive mechanism of CQA.Second,Grice's CP discusses cooperation only from the semantic level.Dialogic Syntax mainly discusses the resonance from the syntactic level.Traditional relevance mainly focuses on semantic relevance. This thesis extends the cooperation and resonance to syntactic, semantic and pragmatic level, and conducts a more comprehensive and in-depth discussion of the CQA.Thirdly, the author compares the proportion of each situation both horizontally and vertically. Thus the research is not only about the mechanism of CQA,but also a comparison of the varying answer strategies due to different degree of cognitive effort it takes to answer questions with different wh-words.
