This article mainly discusses the two orientations of urban theme printmaking.The article focuses on the combination of theoretical research and creative practice.The text consists of four parts.The first part is about the background of the rise of urban theme prints.It mainly includes the urbanization process and the transformation of individual life experience.The second part is based on the previous research and data analysis,the urban theme print creation is divided into two major categories,namely urban landscape print creation and urban image print creation.Representative artists were selected for case studies.The third part is a comparative study of urban landscape prints and urban imagery.It mainly analyzes the creators’ different urban experiences and common spiritual appeals,and conducts research based on artist interviews and essays.The fourth part elaborates on the significance of urban theme printmaking in order to deepen the understanding of printmaking and then create print works that meet the requirements of the times.Final summary,positive contribution,pointing out deficiencies.
