Reflections On The Color Of Traditional Chinese Painting

Chinese painting is one of the unique arts in Chinese civilization.It has formed a strong artistic appeal among thousands of years of development,and at the same time,has shown its unique beauty to the world.The development of color in Chinese painting has undergone a very long process.In the process of its development,it has not only been influenced by the ancient philosophical views such as the Five Elements,Confucianism,Taoism and Buddhism,but also influenced by literati paintings advocated by scholar-officials.Ink painting became the mainstream of Chinese painting for a long time.This article demonstrates and expounds my understanding of the use of color in Chinese painting from four aspects: 1 An overview of the color development of Chinese painting;2 The development of Chinese painting materials and the exploration of color and language;3 The case studies of modern Chinese painters Analysis,4 I use the color in the creation.With the development of the times,under the collision of the color view of China and the West,in the creation of modern Chinese paintings,people turn their eyes more to the study of color and the expression of texture.The traditional Chinese and Western color view can not limit creator's creative thinking,emotional expression and their subjective color configuration.This article tries to interpret the color of Chinese painting from the perspectives of color,painting media and the use of color in paintings by famous painters.
