| In the 1990 s,fairy tale writers in China presented increasing subjective awareness,and experienced increasingly widely appreciated artistic individuality.Furthermore,the spiritual,artistic value,and cultural values of fairy tales enjoyed wide attention,presenting a diversified,rich,and open scenario.Tang Sulan,as one of the important representative writers,has always adhered to the concept of children orientation in her creations.She utilized lively and natural childlike innocence,rich fantasy imagination and warm poetic discourse to build a colorful fairy world for children.Tang Sulan is a scholarly writer for fairy tales,who attaches importance to the aesthetic value and meaning of each work.On the basis of inheriting the Chinese tradition of utilizing fairytale for intellectual enlightenment of children,Tang incorporates her insights into growth and life,and achieves creative objective and aesthetic ideal through stories filled with both child’s taste and philosophical thinking.In this paper,the global features of Tang’s fairy tales are presented from perspectives of her creation view and aesthetic ideal,contents and artistic style of her works,and exploration and persistence of her creations.Then,unique features are refined and summed up.With an aim to supplement and perfect the studies on Tang’s fairy tales,this paper theoretically criticizes and summarizes her works from stylistics,narratology,child psychology,fairy tale aesthetics,etc,and finds out "flash points" of Tang’s fairy tales in which "intellectual enlightenment" and "childishness release" are integrated.It intends that the artistic and aesthetic values of Tang’s fairy tales can been recognized by more scholars.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter talks about "Tang’s creation views and aesthetic ideals".This chapter mainly starts from her childhood experience,her studies on fairy tales and interviews with Tang Sulan to sum up three distinctive fairytale creation views,namely "returning to life to tell stories to children","building a fairytale framework with children’s logic," and "laying stress on the mapping of ’materiality’ and ’humanity’".This can provide a basis for formation cause of Tang’s fairytale style.In the second chapter titled Tang’s colorful Fairy Kingdom,the matter,theme,and image of her fairy tales are mainly analyzed.Through the textual analysis of Tang’s short,middle and long fairytales,this chapter summarizes three characteristics of her creations,namely "fantasy world with regional features","love fairy theme" and "multi-dimensional fairy images."The third chapter talks about "the personalized artistic style of Tang’s creations".It mainly utilizes narratology,fairy tale psychology,stylistics,aesthetics,etc,to study the style of Tang’screations,and conclude that Tang’s creations are featured with "light","diverse" and "deep" unique aesthetic value.The last is conclusion,in which the overall style of Tang’s creations is summarized.In the current tide of market-oriented economy,Tang Sulan can bear the responsibility of keeping a child’s heart and enlightening the children in her creations.She understands emotional needs of contemporary children and writes for children to constantly pursue deeper artistic qualities.The case of Tang’s creations has contemporary significance in modern times and provides an excellent classic model for future fairytale creation. |
