With the development of economic globalization,China's large international projects have been increasing steadily.International project contracts with legal validity play an important role in promoting international economic development and regulating global market, which requires high-quality translation.Adopting the theory of discourse cohesion as its theoretical framework and combining cases with corpus data to carry on qualitative and quantitative analyses, this thesis makes quantitative and qualitative analysis of cohesive types and their translations of international project contract on non-structural cohesion and non-structural cohesion.According to the analysis results, this thesis summarizes the changes and translation strategies of the cohesive types of international project contract. It is concluded that the Chinese text of the international project contract contains almost all types of cohesion except for small branches, such as verbal substitution, verbal ellipsis, clausal ellipsis, connective adverb and prepositional phrase in conjunction,as well as parallel structures other than parallelism. In the process of contract text translation, translation skills are diversified, and some cohesive types are literally translated, such as reference, conjunction, reiteration, collocation and structural cohesion. In spite of certain adjustments, the types of some non-structural cohesion, including comparison reference, conjunction and collocation, and structural cohesion remain unchanged generally. The cohesive mechanism of substitution and ellipsis often changes. It is expected that this thesis could provide practical experience and reference for translating the cohesive types of international project contract, and further optimize the translation quality of contract text.
