A Report On The Translation Of Revolutionary Songs Of Northern Shannxi

It is of great necessity to translate the revolutionary songs of northern Shanxi.The revolutionary songs of northern Shannxi are a true portrayal of the Chinese revolution,a condensed revolutionary culture and a powerful carrier to show the image of the Chinese to the international community.Its translation activities and translation quality are exceedingly conductive to helping Chinese brilliant revolutionary culture go global.Five parts are included in the translation practice report.The first chapter describes the translation practice and introduces its nature and background.The second chapter tells preparations before the translation process and an analysis on the text.The former includes collections of background material,choices of translation theories and translation planes.The latter includes analysis of features of songs text,language and sentences patterns of revolutionary songs of northern Shannxi.The third chapter gives concrete translation examples.In these examples the author studies translations of words and sentences patterns and choices of rhyme.As for translations of words,this practice adopts consonant translations of liners,lexical translations of verbs and paraphrases of the dialect.As for translations of sentences patterns,this practice focuses on simple sentences and active voice.As for the choice of rhyme,this practice ends poem with the vowel and regards the use of inner rhyme as beauty.The fourth chapter is practical experience in translation.This chapter discusses effects after thus translation,reflects problems that arise in the transaction process and concludes inspirations in future study and work.This translation practice is an attempt in this field.The author selects a hundred revolutionary songs of northern Shanxi as translation texts and regards the translation theory of “three aspects beauty” proposed by Xu Yuanchong.The author hopes that this translation practice can not only help late translation practice of traditional songs of northern Shannxi,but also enhance foreign scholars' deeper grasp of Chinese song art and revolutionary culture.With the help of this task,the author improves skills and accumulates experience.
