“The Big Bang Theory” as one kind of American sitcom comedy has attracted a large number of Chinese fans.Meanwhile,this subject has been hotly debated on DouBan group,a famous platform for young people to express views and opinions in China.This article focuses on this DouBan group as the representative which gathers fans of American sitcom comedy “The Big Bang Theory” toanatomize the discussion among it.The paper will discuss how Meiju fans,a typical interest-related group,come into being.And their Para-social interaction and topic distribution will also be focused on.On this basis,by applying Abercrombie and Longhurst's theory of Spectacle/Performance Paradigm and Goffman's idea of self-presentation,this paper analyses the process of fans' performance and finds out the general path of identity: performance-imaginationnarcissism – recognition.Furthermore,facing other culture,how Meiju fans make a balance with their own culture will also be anatomized.The shared value specifically revolving around "lifestyle" is established during the process.To be specific,the process of Meiju fans' intercultural reception includes formation of fashion?usage of new media technology?self-extension under the stimulation from other cultures?integrating and re-constructing text with self-experience.Through the investigation of this case,this article tries to reveal the influence of Meiju fans on society as a sub-cultural group,andhopes to risen morecomprehensive and sociological study about them in this way.
