| In recent years,the doctor-patient relationship is strained,injury medical events continue to emerge.As a highly harmful and negative work event,workplace violence is not only a huge threat to the physical and mental health of medical staffs,but also a health hazard for the medical industry.This research focuses on the relationship among workplace violence,silence behavior and emotional labor strategy.Data were collected by means of these questionnaires of Workplace Violence Scale,Silence Behavior Scale and Emotional Labor Scale from 649 medical staffs from Hunan,Heilongjiang,Hebei and other places.The major findings were as follows:1.The total prevalence of workplace violence of medical staffs was 62.7%(407/649),the most common type of workplace violence is psychological violence including emotional abuse(51.1%)and threat(40.4%).2.Workplace violence has significant differences in age,length of service and class-type;There were significant differences in the three dimensions of emotional labor strategy in age,education,duty and title;Silence behavior has significant differences in duty,class-type and title.3.There was a significant positive correlation between workplace violence and silence behavior,workplace violence and surface acting,surface acting and silence behavior.Workplace violence has a significant predictive effect on silence behavior and surface acting while surface acting has a significant predictive effect on silence behavior.4.Surface acting played an intermediary role between the workplace violence and silence behavior,workplace violence enhanced the medical staffs’ silence behavior by improving the level of medical staffs’ surface acting.5.The deep acting had positive moderating effect on the relationship between workplace violence and silence behavior,the higher the level of medical staffs’ deep acting,the higher the positive impact of workplace violence on silence behavior.Studies have shown that there was high incidence of workplace violence in medical staffs,and will lead to their silence behavior,which are quite harmful to patients,medical staffs and medical industry.Guiding the medical staffs to carry out the appropriate emotional work can effectively buffer and reduce the silence behavior and other negative results caused by workplace violence,at the same time,this study provided reference for reducing the incidence of workplace violence and the level of silence behavior according to the findings. |
