A Report On The Chinese Translation Of The English Mobile Security Information

Mobile Internet has become increasingly popular in recent years.It has made our jobs and life easier and convenient.Nevertheless,there are security mobile threats such as phishing,malware,mobile viruses and span messages.Hence,it becomes particularly important to translate the English information of mobile security into Chinese so that we can learn the advanced technologies and experiences from the developed countries.This thesis is a report on the Chinese translation of the English articles of mobile security from Information Week.The vocabulary and sentence translation problems are analyzed in this thesis.The problems include the mistranslation of the professional vocabulary,the redundancy of the translated expressions and the restriction of the original word and sentence order.Concerning with these three problems,the specific translation strategies are adopted as follows: the Chinese correspondent expressions of the English professional vocabularies can be determined in accordance with the original context and the target context so that the chosen Chinese expressions can be accurate and professional;the redundancy of words/phrases can be avoided with the subtraction strategies so that the Chinese translation becomes smooth and easy to understand;the problem of the unnatural order of the Chinese words and sentences can be solved by re-arranging them according to the conventionality of the corresponding Chinese texts.It is found out that the translator should improve the abilities to identify,consider and solve the problems.The translator should improve his/her Chinese writing skill by analyzing the Chinese texts,which is especially important to translate the long English sentences.Hopefully,the analyses of the translation problems and the corresponding translation strategies may be helpful for the relevant translation activities.
