| Minnan District is in the south-east coast of China,covering three municipality of Quanzhou City,Xiamen City and Zhangzhou City,geographically,Daiyun Mountain high in the west,Jinjiang Plain lying in the east,Jinjiang River and Jiulong River flowing into China East Sea.It is from the special geographical environment and the long history that the traditional culture of Minnan District comes and develops,embracing both the continental culture and the ocean culture;especially the ocean culture plays an important role in the culture of Minnan District,blending with the local continental culture and developing its unique "Min-Ocean Culture".Professor Li Yiyuan,the academician from Taiwan AcademiaSinica and Institute of Anthropology Tsing-Hua University of Taiwan,appropriately uses the words of "ocean experience and ocean character" to describe such Minnan culture.Quanzhou City,as the typical city of Minnan culture,has experienced more than one thousand years’ history changes and "Min-Ocean Culture5" prevails everywhere in this city and burst into a special culture charming in present-society.It is not hard,after experiencing Quanzhou’s "Min-Ocean Culture",to find that Minnan cluture is the result of interrelation of the continental culture and the ocean culture,bold and unrestrained,dynamic and stretching,tradition-oriented and advocated,heartiest and brotherhood,which fully embodies the four culture character:openness,diversification,flexibility and conventionality.Hence,this essay starts from Minnan culure,focuses on Quanzhou Culture,uses the reference of the research way of ocean culture artistic creation,searches numerous historical literature and local folks to define the concept of "Min-Ocean Culture",extract four elements of it and finally visualize it by the Works of Sea-Miss;and the four elements of "Min-Ocean Culture" are "Spirit of Daring to Win"、"Ties of Blood of Taiwan Straits"、"Harmony with the Sea"、"Elegant Antiquities and Tradition".The Works of Sea-Miss fully take methods of poem,music,prop,basic prototype,action language,dancing structure,dancing composition and so on to display successively the four elements of "Min-Ocean Culture" during the dancing creation and further reveal its culture characters.This essay is aimed to provide the local culture dancing creation with some constructive and innovative theory and experiences. |
