?The Soul Of Taihang Mountain?a Report On The Theme Of Painting

A successful work of art is the presence of life and emotions on the basis of material technology,a combination of matter and soul,and form and content.The creation of this themed series named Soul of Taihang Mountains embodies my aesthetic understanding of the painting art and my comprehension of its formal language.That's because I brought the tactics of Chinese painting into my creation practice,which broke the limit of tools and materials,integrating propylene painting with Chinese painting principles.In the two works of the Soul of Taihang Mountains series(150*200cm in size),I integrated the natural beauty of Taihang Mountains into my creation,such effort expanded my vision of painting and taught me something new in the application of painting materials.With the diversified development of art today,I tried to break the old rules of painting tools and materials by using new materials to a larger extent.The problems I engaged with during the process became a drive of my thinkings and efforts.In these works,the color system and language of the ink and color painting,and its relationship with the characters of propylene materials is not simply from the tactic level,but an integration of thoughts and concepts,and an exploration of new formal language of painting.The creation of the Soul of Taihang Mountains series has positive meanings as it improves my understanding of traditional Chinese painting.A lot of researches were launched on the culture and landscape of Taihang Mountains and other relevant paintings.During my investigation and sketching in Taihang Mountains,I deeply comprehended the relations between art formal language and the spirit of Taihang,and clarified my goal of creation.In theory research,I realized the unique form and beauty of Chinese painting.Thus the material collecting and concept designing process,I acquired a deeper understanding of the soul of Taihang Mountains.And in repetitive practices,I found the color and formal languages that support the theme of this creation.By combining creation practice with theory research,I completed my investigation on the formal language of ink and color painting.The aesthetic teachings in traditional Chinese painting,suchas “five different colors of ink” and “paint different things with different colors”,became the theoretical basis of my creation practice.Meanwhile,it is also a major pillar of expanding the ink and color system of the ink and color painting.The theories of traditional Chinese painting is the foundation of my creation,which gave me philosophical thinking in the exploration of formal language and aesthetics of ink and color painting.
