The Characterization Of The Characters In The Radio Play

Radio drama is a special form of art.It has no picture,but by voice,it addresses the literary,ideology and conflict of drama to the audiences.Murder is such a work which is compact and full of conflict.In the broadcast drama,the character language is the only carrier to shape the characters and the plot,without the help of narration.So I should pay attention to the characters' changing mood in different scenarios.This requires knowledge of art language,and skills like tone,stress,breathe,etc.,in order to shape living characters.As a graduate work,Murder's most significant difficulty is how to shape three female characters by myself.I tried my best to use the character shaping schemes,voice skills to reach a harmony between a character and the voice.This paper begins with the analysis of the works,the story and the character,and then introduces the key methods and techniques,such as how to shape different characters,how to state the scenes,how to performance the actions,how to handle the rhythm and breath skills.Then the paper sums up the gains and losses of the work.
