The Research Of Subjective Quantity Of The Modern Chinese Adverbial Framework

Subjective quantity is an important part of modern Chinese grammar research.Adverb framework is a special format that is commonly seen in modern Chinese.Considering that there hasn't been a unified understanding about the definition of adverb framework in current academic circle,and that the classification of adverb framework is not systematic,the author selects five adverb frameworks as research objects which includes “Jin......Jiu......”,“Yi......Jiu......”,“Lian......Dou......”,“Dou......Le” and “Hai......Ne” and carries out a comprehensive study on the subjective quantity function performed by these adverb frameworks.The whole thesis consists of five chapters.The first Chapter is the introduction.It mainly introduces the research objects and content,summarizes the previous research achievements,introduces the research methodology,corpus sources as well as the significance of the study.The second Chapter is the research on subjective quantity function performed by the core adverb “Jiu”.It firstly sorts out the adverb frameworks in modern Chinese and divides those frameworks that are made up of the core adverb “Jiu” into two kinds: the ones that have the function of subjectivity quantity and those that don't have this function.Then an overall study is conducted on the proof of subjective quantity function performed by adverb frameworks “Jin......Jiu......” and “Yi......Jiu......”,their semantic categories,syntax patterns and pragmatic functions.The third chapter is the research on subjective quantity function performed by the core adverb “Dou”.The author adopts the same method to conduct the same study on the adverb frameworks “Lian......Dou......” and “Dou......Le”.The fourth chapter is the research on subjective quantity function performed by the core adverb “Hai”.Just as the Chapter Two and Three,the same study is carried out on the framework “Hai......Ne”.The fifth chapter is the conclusion.It mainly summarizes the research questions explored in this thesis,explains the relationship between adverb frameworks and subjective quantity function performed adverbs,sums up the research value of subjective quantity function performed by adverb frameworks,and at the same time points out the research direction in the future.In addition,based on the description of the subjective quantity function performed by the three groups of frameworks,this thesis not only makes a comparative analysis of the adverb frameworks that can perform the function of small subjective quantity(large subjective quantity),but also compares adverbs with those frameworks that are composed of the core adverbs in such aspects as the semantics,syntax and characteristics,thus revealing the rule of subjective quantity performed by adverb frameworks.The subjective quantity in this thesis is in its broad sense.It includes the quantity not only expressed by numerals but also by the magnitude.On the basis of previous researches,this thesis makes the description of subjective quantity performed by adverb frameworks more detailed,which not only explains the specific subjective quantity performed by specific adverb frameworks,but also analyzes the constraints on semantics and syntaxes when the adverb frameworks perform the function of subjective quantity.This not only improves the subjective quantity theory,but also extends the research field of the modern Chinese adverb framework,and finally provides the theoretical basis for those oversea students who learns Chinese adverb framework for the first time.
