Research On The Art Movement Community

Art movement has experienced three stages of development.In January 1924,Hhoebus Association was established in Paris,France.In August 1928,following a great amount of members returned back home,the Hhoebus Association wasrelocated to Hangzhou,Zhejiang Province,and renamed as the Art Movement Community,for the purpose of "to promote the oriental new art".In October 1936,as the Art Movement Community expanded,it was again renamed as Chinese Art Movement Community(the “Community”).The goal of the Community was "to unitethe art fellows,to dedicate to art movement,and to promote Chinese Renaissance".Due to the outbreak of Chinese War of Resistance Against Japan,the Community had to put all activities on hold.The location was also forced to be moved multiple times.As a result,the community gradually faded away from the stage of history.Since its inception,the Community carried out a large number of activities,such as cultivating artistic talents through training programs,publishing magazines and books,promoting advanced artistic ideas;launching galleries and holding exhibitions,to serve its goal of promoting new art and Chinese Renaissance.Most of the Community members had overseas study experiences.They learned Western art philosophy and painting skills,which they further tried to apply to the development of Chinese art after returning back to China.Their international experiences served as the basis for the fusion of Chinese art and Western art.It is said that the establishment and development of the Community promoted the exchange and integration of Chinese art and Western art,accelerated the development of Chinese art,and had a positive impact on the development of Chinese art during the first half of 20 th century.
