Youth has always been the object that countless literati and poets eulogized from ancient times to the present.At the beginning of this century,Chinese novelists,the main force of which is the post-80 generation,brought youth literature to the public.At the meantime,youth films that draw inspirations from youth literature also get commercialized gradually,and finally become the mainstream of current IP films.As a microcosm of the real world,youth IP films reflect the social relations,living conditions,minds and sentiments of one or several young generations in a special period.This thesis will give an interpretation of the social culture reflected in youth IP films,study youth IP film from the perspective of disciplinary power theory proposed by Foucault,and explore the ?deconstruction? and ?reconstruction? of the real power system by motion picture art.This thesis is divided into six parts: the introduction part introduces the research background and the research significance,reviews academic literature on youth IP film,and then determines the research object,its scope and the issues to be discussed.Chapter 1 gives an introduction of the related concepts of the youth IP film and disciplinary power theory.Chapter 2 explores the disciplinary strategies in youth IP film on the case study of Tiny Times series from three aspects,namely body image,costume art,and plot narrative.Chapter 3 analyzes the realistic basis of the discipline system in youth IP films.Chapter 4 mainly elaborates the problems of the current youth IP films under the influence of disciplinary power system.The last part is the conclusion,which summarizes the development situation,social and cultural background of youth IP film,and analyzes the significance and enlightenment of disciplinary power theory on film research.Through case study and text analysis,this thesis believes that youth IP films have a close relation with the disciplinary society,and they can reflect the phycology of people and social problems.This thesis draws the following conclusions: Youth IP films unfold the disciplinary society by making a simulacrum with semiotics.The standardized aesthetic,gaze and constraints on female,the chase of fashion in a special period,and the relationship between different power in family,school and workplace in the real world are embodied by the appearance,dress,behavior,and psychological activities of the film characters,which reflects the identity crisis of young people in the period of social transition when facing the conflicts between self-awareness and the stare of ?the other?.This thesis found that the current youth IP films still have the problems of modeling,labeling,and excessive commercialized,which not only reduce the quality of the film,but also influence audience ideology,leaving negative impact of discipline on them.By analyzing the overall situation,laws of writing and the problems of youth IP film,this thesis hopes to give the film industry some inspiration and promote the healthy development of IP film.
