The Preliminary Research On History And Geography Of Ying State During Zhou Dynasty

The Ying state was enfeoffed in the early Western Zhou Dynasty,and continued to the early Spring and Autumn period,witch was a vital state surnamed Ji in the south of Chengzhou成周.Due to not recorded in the ancient document,the history of Ying state has been forgotten.As The Ying state bronzes constantly found,especially the discovery and excavation of Ying State cemetery,it provided important information for us on the study of Ying state history.This paper mainly used the archaeological material of Ying State cemetery,combined with ancient document and bronzes inscription,on the basis of previous studies,system studied the history of Ying state and other related issues.This paper is mainly divided into five parts.The first part mainly introduced the discovery of Ying State cemetery and the archaeological remains of surrounding areas,also analysed the stages and chronology of the tomb of Ying State cemetery in the late Western Zhou Dynasty to the early Spring and Autumn period.The second part discussed the history of the Ying state,and mainly discussed the enfeoffment,location,territory of the Ying state and the war between Ying and Huaiyi淮夷in the mid and late period of Western Zhou Dynasty.The third part mainly researched on the history of the Ying state in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty,emphatically analyzed the destruction of the Ying state and the history variance of the region of Ying after it’s destruction.The fourth part mainly studied the diplomatic relations of the Ying state,including the relationship of the Ying state with Zhou Dynasty and the surrounding states.The fifth part is conclusion,mainly summarized the viewpoints of this paper.
