SuShi's painting theory is rich in content and profound in thought.It includes the theory of painting creation,criticism,subject theory,function theory,aesthetic theory and so on.The subject theory,function theory and aesthetic theory is very important in painting of SuShi and the content that has not been systematically studied.SuShi's theories are represented by a series of propositions,such as “regular pattern and skill”,“dependable learning and good ask”,“painting is used to express feelings” and so on.The first part discusses SuShi's painting subject theory.Mainly analysis of the“Can not be insulted”,“to look at things with an aesthetic rather than a utilitarian look”,“master the rules and techniques”,“Learning and ask” and other propositions.This paper analyzes the importance of the painter's moral character to the creation of the painting,and emphasizes that the painter must have superb painting quality and creative skills.Explaining SuShi's basic views on the subject of painting.The second part studies SuShi's aesthetic theory of painting.Although the aesthetic theory of painting is related to the theory of painting creation and criticism,it has the meaning of independence.The aesthetic function of painting is explained by analyzing the propositions such as “painting is used to express feelings”,“the game is free”,“Senses pleasure”,“pleasing and not moving”.This paper discusses the basic viewpoints of SuShi's function of painting teaching from three aspects:the exhortation to the Emperor,the encouragement to the courtiers and the role enlightenment to common people.The third part mainly studies SuShi's painting aesthetic theory.Although the aesthetic of painting is related to the theory of painting creation and criticism,it has independent significance.Through the analysis of a series of propositions,such as“both form”,“vivid”,“freehand” and “wonderful in painting”,seeking Su Shi's views on the major theoretical problems of form and reason,writing form andexpression,exploring Su Shi's aesthetic ideal and aesthetic requirements for painting.
