| Objectives1 To understand the status quo of voluntary motivation,organizational commitment,voluntary behavior of volunteers.To explore the factors affecting volunteer motivation;to investigate the internal mechanisms of voluntary motivation and organizational commitment and voluntary behavior.2 To study the characteristics of volunteer’s volunteer motivation,and to construct the characteristics model of volunteer motivation.Methodologies1 By using "voluntary motivation questionnaire","organizational commitment questionnaire","voluntary behavior questionnaire",measured all kinds of volunteers in Taiyuan city,Shanxi province,380 randomly selected volunteers participated in the survey.Through the investigation and analysis of the survey results,the present situation of voluntary motivation was studied,and the relationship between voluntary motivation and its influencing factors was investigated.The internal mechanism of voluntary motivation and organizational commitment and voluntary behavior was investigated;2 Using the qualitative research,based on the grounded theory,through interviews from 9 outstanding volunteers,the interview data were collected and encoded.The coding results were classified,the consistency test was conducted,and the coding reliability was analyzed.Finally,the characteristics model of volunteer motivation was constructed.The Cronbach’s alpha of the questionnaire used in this study is between 0.635~0.916,and the score of voluntary motivation is 164.967±21.714,which is in the middle and high level;Findings1 The results of quantitative research(1)The Cronbach’s coefficient of the questionnaire used in this study ranged from 0.635 to 0.916,and the volunteer volunteer score was 164.967±21.714,which was at the upper level.(2)The scores of volunteers’ motivation were not significantly different in gender(t=-1.471,p>0.05),marital status(F=2.140,p>0.05)and educational level(F=1.550,p>0.05);they were significantly different in age(F=3.500,p<0.01),home address(F=12.877,p<0.001),identity in the organization(F=-2.289,p<0.05),seniority(F=4.335,p<0.01),average annual service times(F=7.976,p<0.001);(3)The total score of volunteers’ organization commitment was 51.058±6.09,and the total score of voluntary behavior was 22.808 ± 4.674.Correlation analysis showed that voluntary motivation total score had significant positive correlation with organizational commitment total score(r=0.229,p<0.01)and total voluntary behavior score(r=0.284,p<0.01).(4)Regression analysis showed that the factors affecting organizational commitment were: gender,marital status,identity in the organization,average annual service times,and total voluntary motivation score;which can explain 18.7% of the variability in organizational commitment.The factors affecting voluntary behaviors include: age,education,identity in the organization,seniority,average annual service times,and total motivation score;which can explain 22.8% of the variability in voluntary behaviors.(5)The mediating effect test showed that organizational commitment played a part mediating effect between voluntary motivation and voluntary behaviors,and the mediator effect accounted for 17.63% of the total effect.2 The results of qualitative research(1)The range of classification consistency coefficients of two encoders is0.605~0.869 encoding;reliability coefficient range 0.548~0.635.(2)The volunteer voluntary motivation model was constructed and get 4three-level encoding,respectively are: value promotion(morality emotion acquisition,and ability displayed),Self improvement(self development and interpersonaldevelopment),prosocial emotion(sense of mission and emotional expression)and social drive(institutional strength,interpersonal strength and organizational strength).Conclusions1 The volunteer volunteer motivation score was higher than the average level,and ti was correlated with volunteer age,home location,volunteer organization identity,service time,service number per year and so on;2 The volunteer motivation related to their organizational commitment and voluntary behavior;and it could positively predict organizational commitment and voluntary behavior;3 The organizational commitment played a partially mediating effect between the volunteer motivation and the volunteer behavior;4 volunteer motivation could be summarized as the psychological tendency,with the impact of social drive,to achieve self-improvement and improvement and to express pro-social emotions through volunteer behavior. |
