Puccini Giacomao(1858~1924)is one of the most outstanding Italian Composers si nce Giuseppe Verdi,and he is also the representative of the Italian real socialist opera at the end of the 19 th century."Manon lescaut" was pullisked by Puccini Giacomao in 1893 and then made him wi dely known Sola perduta,abbandonata is a dramatic aria with the touching and plaintive melody sung by the heroine in the last scene of the opera which has become the unfailin g sopranos classical repertoire in concerts of all ages.This paper will draw the theatricality as the pointcut and will discuss the theatricalit y of the character emotion,musical expression,singing performance,analyze the nature rela tionship between the dramatic soprano and the dramatic aria,and the relatedness among the lyricism,narrativity,conflict and the theatricality of singing.By studying,revealing the objec tivity of the theatrical presence in the aria from the perspective of multiple and provide th e reference of performances and cognitions for recognizing more about this aria.This paper will be divided into three parts.First of all,brief introduction to theatricalit y and the theatricality in the opera and the aria.What’s more,analyze the theatricality of th e aria Sola perduta,abbandonata from the plot and the music of the theatricality.Last,c ombing with the former two parts,explain the dramatic treatment of the aria Sola perduta,abbandonata from the singing of the theatricality.
